Terms of Use
By using the Chitipay app and the Chitipay website (including the web-based splitting tool), you agree to the terms below. If you don't agree, please stop using the service.
1. Scope of use
Chitipay helps groups log shared expenses, calculate balances, and suggest settlement transfers. You may use the service for lawful personal purposes. You may not use the service to break the law, harm others, or disrupt the system's operation.
2. The calculator is for reference only
The splitting results, balances, and settlement suggestions Chitipay provides are meant to assist calculation and are for reference only. They don't replace any legal, financial, accounting, or tax obligation you may have. Chitipay is not a payment service and doesn't transfer money between members.
3. User responsibility
You're responsible for verifying the accuracy of the data you enter (members, expenses, amounts) and the calculated results before making any transaction. You're also responsible for the expense-splitting agreement between the members of your group.
4. Limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is" to the extent permitted by law. Chitipay doesn't guarantee the service will always be error-free or uninterrupted. To the extent permitted by law, Chitipay isn't liable for any direct or indirect damages arising from use of the service, including calculation errors caused by input data or by relying on results without double-checking them.
5. Privacy
How your data is collected and processed is described in Privacy Policy.
6. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms over time. When there's a material change, we'll announce it via the website or in the app. Continuing to use the service after an update means you accept the new terms.
